Description

Join Flower Power, Inc. to help build a healing vegetable garden for Melissa as she recovers from cancer treatment. Volunteers will assist with raised beds, planting, mulch, and garden setup so she can grow fresh food, restore wellness, and experience the healing power of nature.

Volunteer Activities May Include:

  • Assembling raised garden beds
  • Filling beds with soil and compost
  • Spreading mulch
  • Moving materials and light lifting
  • Planting vegetables, herbs, or flowers
  • General cleanup and beautification
  • Supporting setup and team tasks as needed

What to Wear / Bring:

  • Comfortable clothes you can get dirty
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots
  • Work gloves if you have them
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen / hat recommended

Physical Requirements:

Some tasks may involve bending, kneeling, lifting bags of soil, pushing wheelbarrows, or using hand tools. We welcome volunteers of all ability levels and can match tasks to comfort levels.

Why It Matters:

Cancer treatment often leaves people exhausted, financially strained, and unable to maintain outdoor spaces. By volunteering, you help create beauty, food security, and hope during a difficult season of life.

About the Day:

This will be a fun, meaningful, hands-on community service project where volunteers can directly see the impact of their efforts.
