Who We Are
Mission: To help increase a child’s love in reading and learning daily.
The Bookworms have been serving the community since October of 2002. The group has grown with the support of various businesses, schools, libraries and community leaders. The group has also received support from the local media and is currently in Camden, Gloucester and Cumberland County and Burlington County will begin soon. “Leaders Read Day” recognizes guest readers that allow children to have fun and share in the groups goal of helping others grow. The group invites guest readers that represent community leadership and dedication.
What We Do
Volunteers are the link to all possible achievements in the community. Members of The Bookworms volunteer their time, untiring energy, creativity and devotion to today’s children. Volunteers are individuals with various backgrounds and interest in getting involved and making a difference.
The Bookworms is a reading group for children in homeless and family shelters. The group consists of volunteers that provide one hour of story-time to help increase a child’s love for reading and learning daily.
