Loving Our Cities

Who We Are

Loving Our Cities was founded by Angela Brown in 2011 as the community engagement arm of The Perfecting Church. From its beginning, Loving Our Cities has been committed to our mission of enhancing the quality of life wherever we live, work, serve, and worship. Core to the Loving Our Cities mission is civic engagement, innovative programming, education, and workforce development.

Since its inception, Loving Our Cities has forged impactful partnerships, none more significant than its collaboration with the Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ). Together, we operate four pantries across South Jersey, ensuring that families in need have access to nutritious food and essential resources.

Throughout the years, our volunteers have exemplified the true spirit of community and compassion. They’ve dedicated their time, energy, and hearts to serving others, embodying the mission of Loving Our Cities with every act of kindness.

What We Do

Addressing lack of affordable food options, supporting mental health, and providing job readiness training for low-income families in urban and rural communities.

Mentoring and preparing the next generation of leaders, and fostering racial reconciliation in local and international communities.

Advocating for women by replacing damaging stereotypes, combating violence and prejudice, and supporting women’s leadership roles in all aspects of life.
