Our motto is  "To Feed and Clothe the Needy"  All profits from sales fund our Food Pantry located in the back of the building. We service monthly clients, process emergency relief for utilities and provide food and clothing for the homeless of our community. We treat all of our customers with respect and a smile.

A Furniture Store volunteer shall

Very light cleaning, like running a vacuum may be included in the duties.

Remember that all profits fund our food pantry which serves the 5 communities of the Kingsway Regional School District.  Swedesboro, Woolwich Twp, East Greenwich Twp, South Harrison Twp and Logan Twp. 

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks , RCSJ Serves will bring together students, faculty, staff, departments, clubs, and community partners for a unified Week of Service across both campuses.This initiative is designed not only to commemorate the day, but to reflect and replicate the spirit of unity, compassion, and service that emerged in the days that followed. Through meaningful, hands-on projects, we will support campus and community needs while building a visible culture of engagement across Rowan College of South Jersey.

Not only will volunteers participate in service projects, they will have the opportunity to meet local nonprofit organizations where they will learn how to continue their volunteer journey beyond RCSJ Serves. We’re inviting organizations to come out and join us by tabling during the event to showcase their mission, connect with passionate volunteers, and build lasting partnerships within our community.

- For NPO Exhibition registration, we are using Get Connected for a seamless date and location selection process. If you do not have one already, you will need to create a personal account on our site to register.
- Date and location participation is a first come first serve basis. Spots are limited to 5 nonprofits per day per location.
- Your organization is welcome to join us for as many dates and locations as you would like.
- Organizations will have one table with two chairs and one black table cloth . Feel free to bring your own coverings and any other tabling materials.

We are looking for Volunteer Leads for 2.5-hour shifts at each location to help facilitate a seamless, welcoming experience for participating organizations and attendees. Volunteer Leads serve as ambassadors for the event by supporting with setup, greeting guests, engaging nonprofit representatives, and assisting with breakdown.

Key Responsibilities

Nonprofit Hospitality & Guidance: Greet arriving nonprofit representatives, guide them to their assigned tables, and assist them with any needs or questions throughout the event.

Attendee Greeting: Welcome the campus community, explain the mission and layout of the exhibition, and encourage interaction with the organizations.

Event Operations: Assist with organization set-up before the event begins and breakdown of the room at the conclusion of the day in preparation for the next day.

Shift Options (2.5 Hours Per Shift)

Primary Focus: Setup, nonprofit check-in, and attendee engagement

Duties:

Serve as the primary contact for organization representatives as they arrive - assist with directing them around campus.

Organization check-in and help guide them to their station.

Assist organizations with set-up, if needed.

Greet attendees, introduce the exhibition, and direct them through the venue.

Check in on nonprofit tables to offer assistance.

Primary Focus: Afternoon session support, vendor assistance, and event breakdown.

Duties:

Greet attendees, introduce the exhibition, and direct them through the venue.

As a Volunteer Lead, you will help create a welcoming, organized, and fun experience for participants while keeping the painting station running smoothly. VCSJ will provide the project materials, instructions, volunteer lists, forms, and training, you bring your creativity, leadership, and enthusiasm for service!

Every colorful bin created can collect hundreds of books, and every donated book represents another opportunity for a child to read, imagine, learn, and grow. As a Volunteer Lead, you'll help other volunteers turn their creativity into a lasting community resource.

As a Guest Check-In Ambassador, you will be one of the first friendly faces guests see when they arrive at our 8th Anniversary Red Carpet Gala: Roar for a Reason. This role is essential in creating a warm, organized, and welcoming first impression for all attendees. Volunteers will assist with guest registration, verify names, distribute event materials, answer general questions, and direct guests to the appropriate areas of the venue. Your professionalism and hospitality will help ensure every guest feels welcomed from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities

As a Basket Raffle Assistant, you will play an important role in one of the gala’s most exciting fundraising activities. Volunteers will assist guests with purchasing raffle tickets, answer questions about the available baskets, organize raffle entries, and help ensure the raffle runs smoothly throughout the evening. This role requires enthusiasm, organization, and excellent customer service, as you’ll be interacting with guests while helping raise funds to support children with disabilities and their families.

As an Event Photographer & Videographer, you will help capture the unforgettable moments of our 8th Anniversary Red Carpet Gala: Roar for a Reason. From guest arrivals and award presentations to candid interactions and special highlights, your work will help tell the story of the evening and showcase the impact of our mission. The photos and videos captured will be used to celebrate the event, recognize our sponsors and supporters, and promote future programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Volunteers are asked to wear business formal or formal attire to complement the elegance of our red carpet gala. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are recommended, as this role requires moving throughout the venue for the duration of the event.

As a General Event Support Volunteer, you will help ensure our 8th Anniversary Red Carpet Gala: Roar for a Reason runs smoothly from beginning to end. This is a flexible role for individuals who enjoy lending a helping hand wherever it is needed. Volunteers will assist event staff with a variety of tasks throughout the evening, helping create a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests, sponsors, and families.

Looking for a way to volunteer from the comfort of your home? 

Join Crocheting For A Cause, where volunteers create crochet projects to support nonprofits across South Jersey. We have ongoing projects available for all levels (beginner to advanced), providing registered volunteers with patterns via email. The Volunteer Center then coordinates collection and delivery to organizations in need.

Ongoing projects include Hats and Scarves, Baby Booties, Blankets, Prayer Shawls, and more. 

We have a need for volunteers in the following roles:

Community Outreach Volunteer - Responsible for aiding program with reaching out to the community by attending community meetings/events, canvasing community areas, and assisting Coordinator with partnership development.
 
General/Daily Operations Volunteer - Responsible for general tasks within and around the center. Provides staff with assistance preparing for workshops, events, and activities. Also, to aid with overall organization of the center.
 
Family Engagement Volunteer - Responsible for assisting Family Partner staff members with family engagement and creating a comfortable atmosphere for all participants entering the center.

The Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where residents can go for family support, information, and services. We offer fun activities, informational workshops, and opportunities to learn and grow for people of all ages!

Visit with Samaritan's veteran patients and families in their homes or in long-term care facilities in your local community throughout Gloucester County. Support our patients and their family caregivers through companionship, sharing military experiences, sharing stories, attending medal ceremonies, performing life review, reading, playing cards and games, acting as a friend or neighbor. 

Volunteers visit once a week for 2-4 hours and do not provide any hands-on care. No experience or healthcare background needed. Training is provided.

 Qualifications/Requirements:

We ask that all volunteers bring the following qualities to their work at Samaritan: good communication and listening skills, a nonjudgmental attitude, reliability, flexibility, and compassion.

Technical Volunteers from all disciplines are needed to assist communities and community organizations with temporary communications, technical support, and community recovery following a disaster.

Campus Care, a Volunteer Center of South Jersey initiative that supports The Pantry at Rowan College of South Jersey. Through Campus Care, we can help RCSJ address these food and basic needs insecurity issues with a reliable supply of food and essential items.

The Pantry is a campus-based pantry with a location on each of the Rowan College of South Jersey campuses. Free and confidential, The Pantry provides quick meal-on-the-go options, take-home grocery items, and household and hygiene staples like toilet paper, toothbrushes, and period care products for students experiencing food insecurity.

Share My Meals is closing the gap between food waste and hunger by mobilizing volunteers to recover nutritious surplus meals from commercial kitchens and deliver them to local nonprofits that support individuals in need.

About the opportunity: Volunteers pick up prepared meal donations from Rowan University's campus dining halls on Fridays at 3pm and deliver them to a nonprofit organization in Gloucester Township (~20 minute drive).

We are looking to build a community of volunteers who would be willing to support this route on a regular basis starting as soon as possible.  

In order to adhere to food safety guidelines, Share My Meals provides all necessary equipment (i.e. insulated bags) to transport food donations safely and requires volunteers to track pick-up and delivery route start and end times using our smart phone app.

Volunteer Position: Pickup & Delivery Driver

Organization: King's Things Food Pantry

Time Commitment: 3–4 days per week, approximately 2 hours per day

King's Things Food Pantry is seeking a dependable and compassionate volunteer to serve as a Pickup & Delivery Driver. This important role provides support and backup for our current Pickup and Delivery volunteer and helps ensure that food reaches families and individuals experiencing food insecurity throughout our community.

Responsibilities

• Pick up donated food from our Retail Rescue partners and transport it safely to King's Things Food Pantry.

• Weigh incoming food donations and accurately record donation weights.

• Monitor and record temperatures of frozen and refrigerated food items to ensure food safety compliance.

• Complete required reporting and documentation for the Food Bank of South Jersey.

• Deliver weekly food supplies to local low-income housing projects.

• Pick up food and supply donations from area organizations, businesses, and community partners as needed.

• Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient donation intake process.

Requirements

• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

• Access to a reliable SUV, minivan, or other large vehicle with a covered storage area.

• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.

• Commitment to treating pantry clients, donors, and community partners with kindness and respect.

This volunteer position plays a vital role in helping King's Things Food Pantry provide nutritious food to neighbors in need. By ensuring that donated food is collected, handled safely, and delivered where it is needed most, you will make a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of local families.

Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to serve with us.
