In celebration of Family Volunteer Day, the Volunteer Center of South Jersey is hosting a Volunteer Fair, bringing together local nonprofits and the community for a day of service and connections. We're seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with event setup, guest check-in, activity coordination, and general support throughout the day.
ABOUT THE EVENT
At the fair, attendees will be able to learn about the participating agencies - who they are, what they do, and their mission critical work that addresses community identified needs. More importantly, the community will be able to find opportunities to give back in their communities through service and volunteering at a South Jersey nonprofit organization.
What is Family Volunteer Day? Family Volunteer Day is a day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods.
Points of Light created the day to showcase the benefits of family volunteering and provide opportunities for families to help communities create supportive environments for their children and communities. This year, Family Volunteer Day is being coordinated in our community by the Volunteer Center of South Jersey. This is a global initiative that inspires youth and families to take action to help people, communities and the planet.

Set-up will happen at 10 am and break-down will happen at approximately 2pm.
The event will include family-fun service projects, like creating greeting cards, assembling cutlery kits for local food banks, and more!
Duties include:
- Shift 1: Set-Up & Guest Assistance - 10:15am-12:30pm
- Setting up tables
- Assisting nonprofits in their set-up
- Setting up event signs
- Some lifting
- Welcoming guests
- Assisting guests with volunteer projects
- Directing nonprofits and attendees
- Shift 2: Breakdown & Guest Assistance - 12:15pm-2:30pm
- Assisting guests with volunteer projects
- Assisting nonprofits with their needs
- Breaking down tables
- Assisting with inventory
- Assisting with taking supplies back to VCSJ's office (on campus)
