Project Coordinator (PC) – Jersey Cares
Be the leader who turns good intentions into meaningful action. Project Coordinators (PCs) are the backbone of Jersey Cares’ community-based volunteer initiatives. As a PC, you’ll serve as a volunteer leader and ambassador, guiding groups of volunteers through impactful service projects that strengthen New Jersey communities.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy leading people, organizing experiences, and making things happen—whether you’re building new skills or bringing leadership experience you already have.

As a PC, you will:
- Build leadership & project management skills in a real-world setting
- Develop meaningful relationships with nonprofit partners and fellow volunteer leaders
- Access Jersey Cares’ Leadership Development Series and ongoing training
- Join a strong network of volunteers, agencies, and Jersey Cares staff working together for greater impact
- Make a visible, tangible difference in communities across New Jersey
We’re looking for volunteer leaders who have:
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- The ability to lead and motivate teams
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort working independently and taking initiative
- Regular access to the internet for project coordination
Leadership experience is helpful—but not required.
We provide training and support every step of the way.
Time Commitment:
- Lead at least one project per month, based on your availability and interests
- A six-month commitment is preferred (but not required)
- Attend periodic leadership trainings and bi-monthly webinars
