Kids Alley is a Christ-centered nonprofit ministry dedicated to bringing hope, love, and education to children and families in Camden, Pennsauken, and surrounding communities. Through our programs — including the Kids Alley Learning Center — we provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where children can grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our mission is to build strong hearts, strong minds, and strong bodies while sharing the love of Jesus in practical and meaningful ways.

Join our team as a Learning Center Mentor and make a lasting impact in the lives of children! From 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, you’ll work alongside our dedicated staff to help students succeed academically while also supporting their personal growth and confidence.

Whether you’re helping with homework, encouraging students during recreational time, or simply being a positive role model, your presence matters. We also highly encourage bilingual (Spanish-speaking) volunteers to apply, as your skills can make a meaningful difference in connecting with our diverse community.

General Responsibilities for all Specialists: 

9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance is a national movement that transforms a tragic day in our nation’s history into an opportunity for unity, service, and hope. On September 11, 2025, we will join hundreds of thousands of Americans in honoring the lives lost on 9/11/01 by hosting a Youth Service Project.

This year, volunteers will pack Project Appreciation kits—thoughtful “thank you” packages for local Emergency First Responders. Since its launch in 2017, Project Appreciation has brought together volunteers to create and deliver more than 4,300 kits to first responders across South Jersey. During this event, volunteers will decorate and assemble the kits for distribution.

Families or groups should register together as a team.

ALL minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and should register as a team with their parent or guardian.

Overview
We are seeking passionate, energetic, and Christ-centered volunteers to join our Saturday Live Children’s Ministry Team. As a Children’s Volunteer, you’ll play an important role in helping kids connect with God’s Word, experience meaningful relationships, and develop life-changing skills. This opportunity is open to our regular volunteers as well as new applicants from the public who feel called to serve.

Don't know much about the Bible? That's okay! As long as you have a heart for kids, you'll fit in just fine.

This is one of our most popular tents—where cyclists who raised $300 or more stop to receive their commemorative T-shirt and medal. Volunteers will help celebrate our cyclists’ amazing accomplishments while handing out well-earned gear and big congratulations!

Each year, the Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for thousands of children and seniors in need across the country. The generosity of anonymous (Individuals, families or corporate teams) donors who adopt “angels” from the Angel Trees helps make the season more rewarding for the gift giver and gives a sense of normalcy to the recipients.

Last year we served over 700 children and 350 families with toys, clothing and food boxes for Christmas. Help us continue bringing hope during the holidays!

Using personal photography equipment, capture event including team photos, start & finish line photos, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind. 

*May be asked to go on the route to take photos of Rest Stops and candids of cyclists.

This is our premier and award-winning annual event, featuring more than 125 artists and exhibitors, new and unique crafts, live demonstrations, hands-on family activities, entertainment, wonderful regional food, and more! Please help us make the Festival of Fine Craft successful once again this year! Every year, the Festival depends on the help of more than 150 generous volunteers who help to make this exciting event run smoothly.

In return for at least 4 hours of donated time, each volunteer will receive a participant badge (good for both days) and two additional complimentary festival passes for friends or family members. Continue volunteering throughout the year, and your time counts towards a free Make-Your-Own-Experience, offered when 100 hours of Volunteer Time at WheatonArts is reached! If you are a student volunteer, you will receive a letter confirming your hours for service learning/clubs.

Assist the Appel Farm Camp Director in providing a tour of the site for the Artober event including a sneak peek behind the scenes in our housing, dining hall, theatre, and art building. This beautiful country setting in Salem County is a great backdrop for enjoying fun fall activities! Need knowledge of Appel Farm site and camp experience. This is a free parking and no charge event. A volunteer waiver is required and will be emailed upon sign up for position.

Help to set up and break down the arts activities located under the arts tents at Appel Farm's Artober event. Work with the Teaching Artists and assist guests with the art projects including pumpkin painting. Best suited for volunteers who love to interact with families in making art. One should be able to move about setting items out on the tables and one should wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Great opportunity for scouts, National Honor Society and other high school volunteer groups looking for hours. This is a free parking and no charge event.  If you are well versed in making a campfire, then this job is for you! Scout leaders, fellow campers, and all around outdoor friends are encouraged to volunteer at Appel Farm's Artober Event where you will start, maintain and close out the afternoon campfire. Looking for art teachers/college art students or equivalent who are interested in helping to hang paintings for an art sale, setting up a display of silent auction items, historic time line of the last 65 years of Appel Farm and didactic displays of various Appel Farm activities like a Memory Wall, In Memoriam display, Building and Grounds and more. Staff are willing to sign log books for approval on volunteer hours. (Must be able to hang artwork and move about gallery space. Instructions will be sent by email in advance and staff will be onsite supervising set up.)

Should wear comfortable shoes as this is mostly a standing position. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Long hair needs to be pulled back in a pony tail and hats will need to be worn. These positions are indoors in our dining hall.

Photos become the property of Appel Farm and will be used for promotions of future events. Volunteer shifts include 30 minutes of uploading photos to google drive at the end of the shift. Great for college or high school students looking to expand resume skills. Specific positions include stage photography, audience photography and activity photography. Work with the Teaching Artists and assisting guests in doing the art projects. Best suited for volunteers who love to interact with families in making art. One should be able to move about setting items out on the tables and one should wear clothes that they don’t mind getting messy. 8:00am-10:00am is open studio and the 1:00-3:00 pm shift are volunteer run without teaching artists. Teachers, artists and college art students who have worked with families and children in the past would be great candidates for the positions.

And for those familiar with the history of Appel Farm starting in the 1970s, volunteers are needed to talk about the main staff house that doubled as the initial camp.

Join Appel Farm Arts & Music Center for our 65th Anniversary Weekend Celebration and Festival from November 7th to the 9th. The activities include a vibrant weekend of art, music and community, honoring the connections, shared memories and radiant spirit that make our center a creative home for all! Centrally located in South Jersey off Routes 55 and 40. Volunteer for a 3-4 hour shift and still have plenty of time to enjoy the festivities.

OVER 100 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES!
Volunteer in advance (A), for the festival day (F) or a weekend shift (W).

(F) These positions will set up 10’ x 10’ popup tents, help move tables and chairs, and set out garbage/recycling cans. The volunteers will also empty trash cans throughout the concert. At the end of the evening, these positions will break down tables/tents and move trash to the dumpster. This position requires the ability to be on your feet and lift about 20-30 pounds. Good walking shoes and layered clothing advised. Great for scout groups and other service organizations looking to gain volunteer hours for membership.

This position requires the ability to be on your feet and be able to direct vendors to their booth site. At the end of the evening during the 7-9 shift, assist the coordinator with food truck owners and sponsors safely exit the site. Good walking shoes and layered clothing advised.

(F) The medical assistant will be stationed at the Merchandise tent for any emergencies that arise in the concert area. Nurses/Doctors/EMTs all welcome. First Aid kit and AED will be supplied. Set up and break down required. First aid station is in vicinity of the stage for easy access to audience emergencies. Secondary assistance can be pulled from first aid/AED trained operations staff.

(F) This position will assist in making a VIP reception a great success! Help set up the reception area including food and information table. Meet and greet guests. Of course, packing it all up at the end showcases an accomplished night! Must be sociable, some knowledge of Appel Farm, and be able to move about lifting approximately 10 pounds. Instructions will be sent by email in advance and staff will be onsite supervising set up and breakdown of event. Wear comfortable shoes and casual nice clothing, please.

Position is best suited for nonprofit professionals interested in networking with government, foundation, corporation and individual donors. This is an indoor position.
