Social Squad Summer Camp is a 1-week long camp for young adults (age 12+) with intellectual & developmental disabilities in Camden, NJ.

Volunteers are needed to support our young adults in engaging in fun summer activities! Every day is different, but we will be doing so many cool activities like exploring new things, making new friends, and practicing our social and independent living skills together and out in the community!

This camp is 1 week-- July 13-17 Monday-Friday 9am-2:30pm.

When you sign up, you can sign up for as many or few days as you'd like to attend!

Kids Club Summer Camp is a 1-week long camp for young children (age 4-11) with intellectual & developmental disabilities in Camden, NJ.

Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where community residents can go for family support, information, and services. Family Success Centers serve families in safe and supportive home-like environments designed to strengthen the family unit, build relationships, enrich the lives of community members, and make families and neighborhoods stronger.

Volunteers are needed to lead English as a Second Language courses at the Building Bridges Family Success Center. Volunteers will lead weekly courses to teach the basics for reading and writing English, vocabulary, grammar, and common phrases. Volunteers are also needed to translate and provide additional support to families in need of service at the Family Success Center.

Courses will be taught once a week and your schedule can be determined with the volunteer supervisor.

Are you passionate about increasing access to fresh, healthy foods? Join us each month for the Hope Mobile Food Distribution, in partnership with the Food Bank of South Jersey!

With food insecurity being such a pressing issue in Camden City, we distribute fresh food to families in the community every third Wednesday of the month at a local school. As a volunteer, you can help us unload donations, set up tables, and distribute food! 

We encourage both groups and individuals to volunteer with us as often as you like. Hope Mobile takes place from 7:30am - 11:30am.

Teens support Samaritan's patients through independent projects, joining our teen volunteer group SamariTeens, helping as a greeter/receptionist at our Samaritan Center at Voorhees, and/or helping at Samaritan Thrift. Samaritan is a non-profit agency caring for those with serious illness to help them live their best lives every day.

1. Independent projects are available to anyone who wants to gain service hours but not join a group. We have ideas from collection drives, to crafts, to fundraisers, etc. You work on your own time. We provide letters confirming contributions.

2. SamariTeens is a group for 14-18 year old high school students who want to volunteer on an on-going basis.

During the school year, we meet once a month, either after school or in the evening from 6-7:30pm. We make crafts for our patients and families to enjoy, visit assisted living communities to play games or make crafts with the residents, participate in fundraisers, represent at volunteer fairs, and support annual events. No mandatory requirements, participate in as many activities that fit your schedule and that you'd enjoy.

3. Greeter/Reception for teens 17+ years old. Samaritan Center at Voorhees, 265 Rte 73 S, Voorhees. Answer phones, greet & escort visitors to the Center. Shifts available 7 days/week - 9a-12p, 12-3, 3-6, & 6-8. Complimentary training provided, medical clearance required, including COVID Vaccination and Initial Booster

4. Samaritan Thrift for teens 17+ years old in our Westmont store open Tues-Fri, 11a-3p and Sat, 11a-5p. Help with sorting, tagging and organizing merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, etc.

All activities count as community service!

The Promise Neighborhood Family Success Center in Camden is looking for a bilingual Spanish/English teacher to assist with our ESL tutoring program.

Volunteers must be able to work well with diverse populations and within a group setting. Experience with trauma-informed care is a plus!

You will need to commit to at least one session per week, however attendance at both sessions is preferred!

New Jersey Angels believes that not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can make a difference in a child's life, and one of the ways we hope to do that is through our Love Box program. The Love Box program provides fostering families (caregivers, children in foster care, and biological/adopted children) with community and holistic support. As a Love Box group, you will be matched with a local foster family based on location, compatibility, and scope of needs. When our families are matched with committed volunteers who show up monthly, parents feel supported and children gain a greater sense of normalcy, relational permanency, and self confidence.

Considering supporting the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mount Holly by greeting family members and visitors coming to see their loved ones, escorting as needed to patient rooms, answering/directing calls, and representing Samaritan.

The Unit is located inside Virtua Hospital Mount Holly. The In Patient Unit Volunteers shifts occur on the weekends. Saturday and Sunday Shifts are the same: 8am to 11am; 11am to 2pm, and 2pm to 5pm. Each night a different volunteer group comes to the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey to prepare dinner for the families staying at our House. The process is very simple.

Once you volunteer to do this you will be ready to schedule another date.  The families truly appreciate having dinner ready for them after a long day at the hospital.

Flower Power needs a photographer to help us capture the heart of our mission! We’d love professional headshots and group photos of our Board members to showcase on our website as we grow. Every year in New Jersey, 341,000 tons of prepared food goes to waste, while 994,800 New Jersey residents don’t have enough food to eat. Share My Meals is closing the gap between food waste and hunger by mobilizing volunteers to recover nutritious surplus meals from commercial kitchens and deliver them to local nonprofits that support individuals in need.

About the opportunity: Share My Meals is looking for dedicated volunteers to pick up prepared meal donations from a corporate campus cafeteria on Thursdays at 2pm and deliver them to a shelter in Camden (~5 minute drive).

We are looking to build a community of volunteers who would be willing to support this route on a regular basis starting as soon as possible.  

In order to adhere to food safety guidelines, Share My Meals provides all necessary equipment (i.e. insulated bags) to transport food donations safely and requires volunteers to track pick-up and delivery route start and end times using our smart phone app.

Volunteer Opportunity – Food Rescue and Delivery

Share My Meals is seeking volunteers to help recover surplus meals and deliver them to those in need. Volunteers pick up meals from a professional kitchen in Camden and deliver them to a nearby nonprofit organization serving individuals in need. The drive between locations is ~20-minutes and includes a quick stop to collect empty containers from the nonprofit before pickup.

Please note: Volunteer opportunities occur on weekday mornings and afternoons. The schedule for this route is to be determined, but interested volunteers are encouraged to get started by completing our volunteer application.

Volunteers must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle with insurance, and a smartphone for the tracking app. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting 20-30lbs.

Training and insulated bags are provided.

Responsibilities: Seeking caring and open minded individuals to support 7-11 year olds in our summer program- assisting staff/interns in meal prep, academic hour, sporting events, arts & crafts, STEM/coding, etc

Dates/Times:  Tuesday- Thursday ; 9am-3pm (shifts available!)

Happy to work around volunteer's availability/schedule

Ages: 16 & up

Responsibilities: Seeking caring and open minded individuals to support 10-19 year olds in our summer program- assisting staff/interns in meal prep, academic hour, sporting events, arts & crafts, STEM/coding, etc

Dates/Times:  Monday-Tuesday ; 1pm-6pm or 4:30pm -9:30pm (varied shifts available!)

Wednesday: 12pm-5pm (varied shifts available!)

Happy to work around volunteer's availability/schedule

Ages: 17 & up
