Kids Club Summer Camp is a 1-week long camp for young children (age 4-11) with intellectual & developmental disabilities in Camden, NJ.

Volunteers are needed to support our kiddos in engaging in fun summer activities! Every day is different, but we will be doing so many cool activities art, games, swimming, dance, karate, and more!

This camp is 1 week-- August 10-14, Monday-Friday 10am-2:30pm.

When you sign up, you can sign up for as many or few days as you'd like to attend!

The docents of the Stone Harbor Museum act as the gateway to the history of Stone
Harbor. Our volunteers work in 3 hour shifts welcoming our visitors and facilitating their
experience throughout our exhibits. On-the-job training is offered, and new docents are paired
with experienced ones for the first few shifts. Residents and non-residents are welcome to
apply.
DOCENT DESCRIPTION
Be at least 16 years of age
Have an interest in Stone Harbor history and in learning something new every day
Have excellent interpersonal communication skills
Can commit to working at least 2 days a month
Answer visitor questions, and serve as a museum liaison
Professional casual attire is expected – hoodies, sweatpants or ripped jeans are
inappropriate
Be comfortable standing for 3 hours
Volunteer expectations may include but are not limited to:
o Welcoming visitors to the Stone Harbor Museum
o Responding to inquiries, comments, and feedback from diverse audiences clearly,
courteously and effectively
o Using knowledge of museum content to guide visitor learning in the Stone Harbor Museum's
public spaces
o Initiating and facilitating conversations with visitors by using objects to spark new questions
and ideas.
o Staffing exhibitions, public spaces and exterior museum areas as needed to engage the
public in conversation and provide assistance
o Using available resources to answer visitor questions
o Calmly and professionally resolving issues that arise from visitors or bring any escalating
problems to the attention of our Volunteer Manager, when appropriate/necessary

Thrift Store Volunteer duties include

Volunteers must have good customer relations skills. A working knowledge of Spanish would be helpful but not required

Our motto is  "To Feed and Clothe the Needy"  All profits from sales fund our Food Pantry located in the back of the building. We service monthly clients, process emergency relief for utilities and provide food and clothing for the homeless of our community. We treat all of our customers with respect and a smile.

A Furniture Store volunteer shall

Very light cleaning, like running a vacuum may be included in the duties.

Remember that all profits fund our food pantry which serves the 5 communities of the Kingsway Regional School District.  Swedesboro, Woolwich Twp, East Greenwich Twp, South Harrison Twp and Logan Twp. 

Looking for motivated adults who are willing to make a difference in a child's life.

For one week in August, children ages 7-17 from the New Jersey and Philadelphia area can attend Camp Bright Feathers.  Camp Bright Feathers is dedicated to serving children and teens affected by HIV/AIDS and/or violence through a nurturing overnight camp program that focuses on improving the health, well-being and self-sufficiency of all.   Camp Bright Feathers provides a stress-free, fun, recreational camp in the woods for these children that are dealing with an assortment of issues back at home.  It’s a chance for these children to be just kids.

The camp is held at YMCA of the Pines (Formerly known as Camp Ockanickon) which is located in Medford, New Jersey.  The camp sits on over 800 acres in the heart of the pine barons.   The camp has two man made lakes where the children can go swimming, boating, and fishing.  The campers also participate in land sports, arts and crafts, nature, horseback riding, hiking, tractor rides, campfires, talent show, a dance, and karaoke. The older campers get a chance to enjoy the climbing wall, and zip line.  Each dinner has a theme were the campers and staff dress up to win a prize.  Tuesday night the camp is treated to an outside entertainment. Wednesday evening the camp comes together for its talent show.  The camp comes together on Thursday for its special event and finishes the day with the traditional camp dance.  Then on Friday the campers and staff finish with some extra activities and a last meal together.  Volunteers get an opportunity to teach their talents to the campers and introduce some cools things to campers.  Another great things is that you get to do some cool activities with the campers.  Gives you an opportunity to not only teach but you get to enjoy cool activities.  Maybe even an activity you always wanted to try. 

The camp is run by a mixture of new and long time veteran counselors.   Almost all of the volunteers use personal vacation time to be at camp.  The staff go through several training (Giving up additional personal free time) to ensure that they can provide a fun and safe time for the campers.  Each individual brings their own individual talents and expertise to help provide a memorable experience for each child.  Now in our 34th year, Camp Bright Feathers has had the pleasure of providing a wonderful experience to over 3,200 campers and look forward to continuing this experience for many more years.

Responsibilities to Include:

Shift 1, 

Event Setup & Launch (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

-Be Punctual: Prompt arrival at 8:00 AM is mandatory to ensure everything starts exactly at 10:00 AM.

-Vendor Check-In: Greet incoming vendors and guide them to their assigned spaces.

-Site Setup: Set up 10x10 canopies, tables, chairs, and signage.

-Giveaway Prep: Organize the bookbags, school gear, and clear gift bags at the main tent.

-Kickoff: Welcome the first wave of guests as doors open at 10:00 AM.

Shift 2,

Mid-Day Operations (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

Crowd Flow: Manage lines at the food stations, moon bounces, and activities.

Distribution: Hand out free giveaways and resource materials to families.

Hospitality: Station volunteers at the entrance to welcome guests with a smile.

Grounds Care: Do quick sweeps to keep the event area clean and safe

Shift 3, Afternoon Operations (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

Shift Handover: Take over line management and distribution stations seamlessly.

Vendor Support: Check in on vendors and pillars of the community for any needs.

Activity Assistance: Keep afternoon games and family activities running smoothly.

Main Maintenance: Empty full trash bins and restock giveaway tables.

Shift 4: Event Closing & Breakdown (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

Final Wave: Assist the remaining event guests until the 6:00 PM closing time.

Vendor Departure: Help vendors safely pack down their booths and load vehicles.

Site Breakdown: Pack away organization tables, chairs, canopies, and banners.

Final Cleanup: Clear the entire park grounds of all trash to leave the space spotless.

We are looking for Volunteer Leads for 2.5-hour shifts at each location to help facilitate a seamless, welcoming experience for participating organizations and attendees. Volunteer Leads serve as ambassadors for the event by supporting with setup, greeting guests, engaging nonprofit representatives, and assisting with breakdown.

Key Responsibilities

Nonprofit Hospitality & Guidance: Greet arriving nonprofit representatives, guide them to their assigned tables, and assist them with any needs or questions throughout the event.

Attendee Greeting: Welcome the campus community, explain the mission and layout of the exhibition, and encourage interaction with the organizations.

Event Operations: Assist with organization set-up before the event begins and breakdown of the room at the conclusion of the day in preparation for the next day.

Primary Focus: Setup, nonprofit check-in, and attendee engagement

Duties:

Serve as the primary contact for organization representatives as they arrive - assist with directing them around campus.

Organization check-in and help guide them to their station.

Assist organizations with set-up, if needed.

Greet attendees, introduce the exhibition, and direct them through the venue.

Check in on nonprofit tables to offer assistance.

Primary Focus: Afternoon session support, vendor assistance, and event breakdown.

This role is essential in creating a warm, organized, and welcoming first impression for all attendees. Proceeds from this event help provide financial assistance, hospital care packages, clothing, household essentials, and other essential resources to families facing the emotional and financial challenges of caring for a critically ill child. By volunteering, you are helping create a successful event that directly impacts local families and reminds them they are not alone in their journey.

As a Face Painting Volunteer, you will help bring smiles to children's faces by creating fun and colorful face paint designs throughout the event. Volunteers should be friendly, patient, and enjoy interacting with children of all ages while providing a positive and memorable experience. Artistic ability and previous face painting experience are preferred but not required if you are comfortable painting simple designs. The National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey is the largest consumer organization of blind individuals in the state of New Jersey. Our organization is made up of blind people, families, professionals, educators, advocates, and community supporters working together to help blind individuals live the lives they want through education, advocacy, technology, mentorship, and independence training. We have well-established local chapters, committees, groups, and programs throughout the state, along with a team of dedicated leaders who are trained to provide services to newly blind people, assist with their adjustment to vision loss, and help them acquire the skills needed to thrive independently. Our collective knowledge and experiences drive our advocacy efforts, enabling us to work toward long-term positive changes at both the state and national level.

This year(from Wednesday, October 21, 2026 through Sunday, October 25, 2026), the NFB of NJ will proudly celebrate its 50th Anniversary State Convention — a landmark event bringing together blind individuals, families, professionals, educators, businesses, advocates, and community leaders from across New Jersey and beyond. Therefore, we are seeking volunteers to support us during the state convention. Following are some of the responsibilities of volunteers:

1.   Volunteers will attend a virtual Zoom meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM to get familiar with the sighted guide techniques for the convention.

2.   Volunteers will assist participants during the hotel registration/check in process on October 21 around 4:00 PM and October 22 around noon and direct them to the designated areas for the convention. at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City.

3.   Volunteers will assist during the hotel check-in process with bus participants on October 21 and October 22.

4.   Volunteers will assist during the hotel check-out process on October 25 and help participants to the designated bus area ensuring attendees depart safely and comfortably. The bus will depart from the hotel around 12:00 PM.

5.   Volunteers will assist with convention registration and distribution of materials during the hotel check-in process.

6.   Volunteers will assist participants with navigating the convention venue, including locating session rooms, meeting areas, and key locations.

7.   Volunteers will support attendees with navigation between sessions and events.

8.   Volunteers will provide sighted guidance to participants when requested, helping them move safely and comfortably on escalators or to the elevators.

9.   Volunteers will respond to general questions and connect participants with convention staff when additional assistance is needed.

10.               Volunteers will report to an assigned supervisor throughout the convention and will communicate concerns, completed tasks, and attendee needs in a timely manner.

Join Crocheting For A Cause, where volunteers create crochet projects to support nonprofits across South Jersey. We have ongoing projects available for all levels (beginner to advanced), providing registered volunteers with patterns via email. The Volunteer Center then coordinates collection and delivery to organizations in need.

Ongoing projects include Hats and Scarves, Baby Booties, Blankets, Prayer Shawls, and more. 

Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where community residents can go for family support, information, and services. Family Success Centers serve families in safe and supportive home-like environments designed to strengthen the family unit, build relationships, enrich the lives of community members, and make families and neighborhoods stronger.

Volunteers are needed to lead English as a Second Language courses at the Building Bridges Family Success Center. Volunteers will lead weekly courses to teach the basics for reading and writing English, vocabulary, grammar, and common phrases. Volunteers are also needed to translate and provide additional support to families in need of service at the Family Success Center.

Courses will be taught once a week and your schedule can be determined with the volunteer supervisor.

Are you passionate about increasing access to fresh, healthy foods? Join us each month for the Hope Mobile Food Distribution, in partnership with the Food Bank of South Jersey!

With food insecurity being such a pressing issue in Camden City, we distribute fresh food to families in the community every third Wednesday of the month at a local school. As a volunteer, you can help us unload donations, set up tables, and distribute food! 

We encourage both groups and individuals to volunteer with us as often as you like. Hope Mobile takes place from 7:30am - 11:30am.

2. SamariTeens is a group for 14-18 year old high school students who want to volunteer on an on-going basis.

During the school year, we meet once a month, either after school or in the evening from 6-7:30pm. We make crafts for our patients and families to enjoy, visit assisted living communities to play games or make crafts with the residents, participate in fundraisers, represent at volunteer fairs, and support annual events. No mandatory requirements, participate in as many activities that fit your schedule and that you'd enjoy.

3. Greeter/Reception for teens 17+ years old. Samaritan Center at Voorhees, 265 Rte 73 S, Voorhees. Answer phones, greet & escort visitors to the Center. Shifts available 7 days/week - 9a-12p, 12-3, 3-6, & 6-8. Complimentary training provided, medical clearance required, including COVID Vaccination and Initial Booster

Get out of the heat and volunteer! What better way than to open your heart to those who are grieving? We are looking for caring people to make 10-15 Bereavement calls on a monthly basis from your own home to check in with those who have recently lost a loved one on hospice services with Samaritan.

Samaritan is a nonprofit, non-sectarian agency caring for people suffering from serious, progressive illness and grief.

No computer skills required. No experience necessary!

Please note: All who have experienced the loss of a significant family member or friend must wait one year from date of loss to begin the volunteer process.

We have a need for volunteers to help with the following tasks:

Community Outreach Volunteer - Responsible for aiding program with reaching out to the community by attending community meetings/events, canvasing community areas, and assisting Coordinator with partnership development.
 
General/Daily Operations Volunteer - Responsible for general tasks within and around the center. Provides staff with assistance preparing for workshops, events, and activities. Also, to aid with overall organization of the center.
 
Family Engagement Volunteer - Responsible for assisting Family Partner staff members with family engagement and creating a comfortable atmosphere for all participants entering the center.

The Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where residents can go for family support, information, and services. We offer fun activities, informational workshops, and opportunities to learn and grow for people of all ages!

If you have a few hours to dedicate each week to helping families, we can find a place for you!

The Promise Neighborhood Family Success Center needs your help to bring in donations of needed materials from local business and organizations to be used for workshops, events, and general daily operations. 

Are you looking to increase your skills writing letters of support or planning fundraising events? 

We need help to write letters and visit various businesses and organizations to seek donations. We also are seeking help to organize and develop fundraising events and strategies for seeking donations.

You will join a fantastic team and have lots of support! Time frame is flexible. 

The Promise Neighborhood Family Success Center in Camden is looking for a bilingual Spanish/English teacher to assist with our ESL tutoring program.

Volunteers must be able to work well with diverse populations and within a group setting. Experience with trauma-informed care is a plus!

You will need to commit to at least one session per week, however attendance at both sessions is preferred!
